Wilberfoss clay is extracted from our
Wilberfoss quarry and landfill site
which is located on the A1079, six miles
South-east of York. It can be delivered
anywhere.
The clay can be used to create instant
barriers alongside watercourses or
property boundaries. It is transported
directly to the point of construction
and can be levelled and compacted in layers by one machine. It can be shaped to any profile and height and is ideal for following river bends and the twists and turns of natural land contours. There is no need for foundation preparation, shuttering or pumping associated with concrete walls.
Our clay can be used to provide instant
flood defence material. The material's
qualities of high impermeability and
good moisture content make it easily
useable and manageable so that areas
which are at risk from flooding can be
quickly protected.
Our quarry has reserves in excess of 1.1
million tonnes of product, which means
that consistent material is guaranteed
if bulk volumes are required. We can
extract up to 2000 tones daily during
any season of the year.
Our clay can be used to line landfill
sites, quarries and other void spaces
which require remediation prior to
future use. With a permeability rating of
between 10-9 and 10-11 it can be used
on hazardous landfill sites to provide
guaranteed protection of the underlying
strata.
We would welcome the opportunity to
provide prices to end users, consulting
engineers or contractors at design,
tender or construction stage.
